The race to 60

One rule: first to 60 wins

NickHub is growing from one character's tracker into a race hub. Up to four friends, each on their own WoW Forever run, all on one leaderboard.

How the race is decided

The winner is the first racer to reach level 60 on the calendar. Not the lowest /played, and not the most kills. Sleep, work and a raid night all count against the clock.

What the hub will show

How to join

  1. Pick your character name and send it to Nick, who sets up your entry.
  2. Install the addon before your first login. It can only log what happens while it's installed.
  3. Open your download. It's a Windows app with your personal password already set, so there's nothing to configure and no Python to install. Windows may warn about it the first time: choose More info, then Run anyway.
  4. Leave the app running while you play, and type /nh sync whenever you want the site updated.

That's the whole job. The app finds your saved file, watches it, and sends updates to the site.

How it will work behind the scenes

Each racer's data takes the same route as today: addon, saved file, uploader, Cloudflare Worker, dashboard. How it works walks through all of that. Three things change for a race:

Good to know

Is the leaderboard live?

It updates when a racer syncs or logs out, not after every kill. Someone can stay quiet and surprise everyone, so standings are only as fresh as each racer's last sync. The leaderboard will show when that was.

What if I forget to open the app?

Nothing is lost. The addon keeps logging, and your full history goes up the next time the app runs after a sync or logout.

What if I install the addon late?

You can still race, and your level 60 time still counts. Kills, quests and stats from before the install won't appear, though.

What will be public?

Your character name, class, level, gold, deaths, zones, kills and quests, for anyone who visits. The app uploads game data from the addon's saved file and nothing else from your PC.

Could someone cheat?

Your password protects your run from other people, but data comes from each racer's own PC, so it's an honor system. Among friends, the bragging rights only count if they're real.
